Los Gatos Youth Theatre (LGYT) was founded in June of 2009, by Blossom Hill teacher, Brian Houg. The purpose of the organization is to give children of Los Gatos and the surrounding communities their own theater opportunity. LGYT serves children ages 6-15.

The first production was Willy Wonka, Jr, performed in August 2009. In the summer of 2010 LGYT produced two plays, Aristocrats, Kids for the younger ages, 7-10 years and Guys and Dolls, Jr, for older children (10-13). In 2011) LGYT produced Jungle Book, Kids for ages 7-10 and Grease, School Edition for kids 11-14.

In summer, 2012, we added a third age group. Our youngest kids, our Prelude group (6-8 years)performed Aladdin, Kids. Our Reprise group, aged 9-11 years, performed Honk, Jr. and our oldest group, Encore, perfomed The Wiz. We also introduced two 2-week theatre day camps.

This summer, 2013, the Encore group will be performing Once on This Island, and the Reprise group will do Suessical Jr. We have expanded our camp options to include both workshop camps and production camps; at all camps actors will hone their skills in acting, dance and voice.
